Mission

The mission of the Bentham-Moxon Trust is to provide financial support for botanical collections and research that furthers the work of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.

The main areas where grants are given

Plant collection and research expeditions.  The Trustees are keen to support expeditions that have a conservation impact.

Overseas botanists visiting or working at RBG, Kew.

Travel to botanical institutions and attending conferences.

Funding small capital items for use on expeditions.

The Programme

The Trust's discretionary funds are quite small and, often, it can only make a contribution to part of the costs of a project.

Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew staff will have discussed their application with their line manager and their Head of Department and have their support.  Other botanists and horticulturalists will have discussed their application with staff at RBG, Kew or Wakehurst Place and secured their support.

Grants are made annually in November.  Application forms and further information are available from the Secretary.  Applications must be with the Secretary of the Trust by 30 September.
